Carolyn Keeling Talks Hope and Development with Channel 8

January 2010: Popular Nicaraguan talk show hostess Ariadne Agamez featured the Hope and Development Foundation in a segment on her Channel 8 show in January. The Foundation’s executive director, Carolyn Keeling, spoke about Hope and Development’s goals of providing education and vocational training for Villa El Carmen residents to assist them in improving their health and overall lifestyles.

Mark Miner, a representative of the Beaver Rotary Club, discussed how the Foundation is working with the International Baseball Academy of Central America (IBACA) to increase tourism and provide opportunities for Nicaraguan youth. With the help of the Foundation, the IBACA will go beyond baseball and include other vocational training in business, English and other skills useful in hospitality and other industries.

As director of Government Relations for the Gran Pacifica resort, Adiak Barahona was able to address the national support for both programs. The interviews received a positive response and we expect more media opportunities will be forthcoming.
