ECI Shareholders Provide Shade for San Miguel Schoolchildren

January 2010: San Miguel School in Villa El Carmen will be a prettier, shadier place thanks to the efforts of ECI shareholders and Pittsburgh Rotary Club members.

During ECI’s January shareholders’ conference, the group took time for several projects on the grounds of the rural school in Villa El Carmen. Shareholders planted shade trees and painted the school’s fences, which had been donated and installed during an earlier visit from the Pittsburgh Rotary Club. The effort was organized by the Hope and Development Foundation, which aims to empower the local community through education, vocational training, job development and improved health. Making the school more inviting by providing shade for the schoolchildren and educators to enjoy is just one of a number of projects focused on improving the lifestyles of those in the Villa El Carmen area.
